A descendant of landowners and statesmen Carolina Herrera moved to New York to start her fashion label after positive reactions to a test collection she created in 1980. Her designs proved very popular and with the addition of perfumes in the 80's Carolina Herrera's empire grew rapidly into a multi million dollar business.
