Gianfranco Ferré - (1944 - 2007) Italian fashion designer Gianfranco Ferré was born in Legnano, Italy.  began his fashion career in 1970 by designing accessories. Gianfranco Ferré started his own company Baila in 1974 and launched his signature collection for women in 1978 and for men in 1982. Gianfranco Ferré became stylistic director for Christian Dior in 1989 and remained until 1997.  On June 17, 2007 Gianfranco Ferré died from a brain hemorrhage.
