In 1970 Nicola Trussardi took on the family glove-making business, expanded into luxury accessories and created a major brand. In the 70's Nicola Trussardi launched a line of leather jackets and by 1980 had produced a complete collection for both men and women. In 1999 Nicola Trussardi died in a Milan hospital 3 days after a car accident where his Mercedes hit a lamp post.
