Pierre Cardin - (1922 - ) Italian fashion designer Pierre Cardin was born in Venice, Italy.  In 1945 Pierre Cardin moved to Paris and became head of Christian Dior's tailleure atelier in 1947.  Pierre Cardin then founded his own label in 1950 and was the first to turn to Japan as a high fashion market.  In 1971 Pierre Cardin opened the venue the Espace Cardin where he now shows his collections.
