Liverpool FC player profile - Emiliano Insua

Emiliano "Emilio" Adrian Insúa Zapata, more widely known as Emiliano Insúa Liverpool FC and Argentina footballer, was born on 07 January 1989 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Emiliano Insúa started out on his football Career in his home country of Argentina with youth side Pinocho before moving to one of the countries best known clubs, Boca Juniors. Whilst with the Buenos Aires club Emiliano Insúa failed to break into the first team but despite this he still caught the eye of Liverpool FC's Spanish manager Rafael Benitez. On 28 November 2006 Emiliano Insúa agreed to an 18 month loan deal with Premier League side Liverpool FC which began in January 2007.

Emiliano Insúa made his first team debut for Liverpool FC on 28 April 2007 in a Premier League match against Portsmouth, he then made one more appearance before the end of the 06/07 season. During the summer of 2007 Emiliano Insúa travelled with the Argentine Under-20 squad to the bi-annual Fifa U20 World Cup in Canada, a competition which Argentina went on to win in July 2007. The following month the loan move which took Emiliano Insúa to Liverpool FC became permanent and as of August 2007 he was officially contracted to Liverpool FC. Emiliano Insúa spent much of the following 07/08 season playing for the Liverpool FC reserves in a successful campaign which saw them win the Premier Reserve League. Emiliano Insúa was offered a new deal by Liverpool FC on the strength of his performances in the reserve team and on 02 July 2008 he signed a three year contract with the club. Emiliano Insúa began to feature more regularly in the Liverpool FC first team in 2009 and in particular during the 2009/10 season, it was at this time on 26 September 2009 that he won his first international cap for Argentina in a 2010 World Cup qualifier win against Peru. Emiliano Insúa scored his first goal for Liverpool FC on 28 October 2009 in a 2-1 Carling Cup fourth round loss to Arsenal.
